--MUST READ RUBRIC ADVICE--
--CHOOSING YOUR RQ TIPS--
AVOID PANDEMIC-related RQs with obvious conclusions eg, How did the pandemic impact Singapore's tourism industry?
AVOID VIRTUAL CURRENCIES as finding a topic that involves meaningful research is difficult.
AVOID VIRTUAL ECONOMIES entirely.
AVOID MARKET STRUCTURE RQs in which the structure is fairly obvious from the outset.
AVOID EQUATING COMPETITION IN SPORTS LEAGUES to competition between actual firms.
AVOID TOPICS OUTSIDE of the IB SYLLABUS.
ENCOURAGED to look at BEHAVIOURAL ECONOMICS.
The RQ MUST be NARROWED to a reasonable focus on a particular part of the economy and is NOT ON THE ECONOMY AS A WHOLE.

The TWO KEY AREAS to focus on in the RPPF are:
The reflection SHOULD BE SPECIFIC to the candidate's own experience, which means what they learned from their EE experience. This should NOT BE "GENERIC".
The supervisor's comment is contextual only, and must not form part of the assessment which is applied to the 3 student reflections only. The student should AVOID WRITING ABOUT WHAT HAS BEEN DISCUSSED WITH THE SUPERVISOR, only about the KEY TAKEAWAYS from the meetings, HIGHLIGHTING the CHALLENGES and how they want to approach these challenges throughout the essay.
High marks are generally awarded to the candidates whose reflection are PERSONAL (their own voice), and they evaluate the process and their engagement. Some candidates often reflect on their CAS project and link it to the ATL skills developed or gained during the EE process.
MUST to DESCRIBE THE KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS YOU HAVE USED/AQUIRED during the process. For example; “... I have also learnt how to research well in the internet using credible sources and connect different ideas from different sources to get a conclusion…”
MUST GIVE SPECIFIC EVIDENCE OF CRITICAL THINKING. For example; “I decided to base the investigation on Edward Relph’s three elements of urban identity as he is a recognized authority on the subject”
MUST clearly SHOW INTERLECTUAL PROGRESS from the first to the final reflection and SEVERAL ATTRIBUTES of the IB LEARNER PROFILE.
