INFORMATIVE ADVERTISING is used when the product's main features and USP are not immediately obvious and possibly require some technical breakdown so the consumer can become aware of why it is worth purchasing. Often it requires live demonstrations or experts to show the product directly to the consumer or use an 'INFOMERCIAL'
PERSUASIVE ADVERTISING is aimed at stimulating the desires, emotions, and interests of consumers to convince them to purchase a product or service. This form of advertising often focuses on the benefits the product or service can offer the end-user.

SPONSORSHIP can be thought of as a type of PRODUCT PLACEMENT, as it is often used to complement the BRAND IMAGE, for example, RED BULL's sponsorship of HIGH-ENERGY sports such as 'X-GAMES' football and of course its Formula 1 team. In addition, the high profile of the events and BRAND AMBASSADORS used guarantees coverage and often creates a brand association that increases sales. However the costs of this type of promotion are extremely large, and if the event or spokesperson's behavior is negative it can reflect poorly on the brand, for example, Manchester United play, Mason Greenwood's NIKE sponsorship ended once he was embroiled in a domestic abuse case last year.

As we mentioned before, when a product is newly launched the advertising may need to be informative, especially if it is featuring brand-new features that the consumer needs to be made aware of, however, if it is an established product and in a very competitive market then persuasive advertising might be used so that it can earn brand loyalty.
By 'NATURE' we mean is it intended to be sold to final consumers (A CONSUMER GOOD/SERVICE) or is it intended to be sold to other producers (A PRODUCER GOOD/SERVICE). Consumer goods can be promoted through persuasive ads with competitions etc but a producer good would likely need more informative promotions including large order discounts instead.
By 'NATURE OF THE TARGET MARKET' we mean is it intended to be sold LOCALLY, NATIONALLY or INTERNATIONALLY, as if it is only going to appeal to a small group then the promotions should be aimed at them, for example, there is no point making an advert for your furniture shop on National TV, rather stick to the local network.
In some countries, the use of women, alcohol, religion, gambling etc... are not allowed. In addition, some countries have limited access to certain media which makes them unsuitable for advertising on, for example, the use of internet ads in Sub-Saharan Africa.
